Armstrong has provided CDD for LDC in support of its investment in Ross Trustees, the independent professional trustee and pensions support services business.
Ross Trustees provides professional trustee and pensions support services, as well as pensions manager and secretariat services, to more than 100 pension schemes and has grown to revenue of £8m. LDC’s investment will support the development of the company’s service offering for its clients and expand its workforce to meet the growing demand for professional trustee services.
Armstrong provided full buy-side CDD, building on our team’s industry experience in the pensions market. Armstrong’s work included market size validation (built from the ground up out to 30 years), competitive landscape analysis, a review of the complex, shifting regulatory environment, and development of base, upside and downside business plan scenarios.
The core of our work was numerous, highly detailed conversations with the company’s clients and network of referrers to gather feedback on performance and differentiation. This was backed up by conversations with Armstrong’s network of market experts. Our quantitative and qualitative analysis was blended to evaluate the firm’s business plan and the opportunity Ross Trustees has to expand in its core UK DB pensions market.
Simon Hemsley, Head of Financial Services at Armstrong Transaction Services, said; “Ross Trustees is an excellent investment opportunity for LDC as its experienced team combines technical expertise with a modern, diverse culture, giving a great platform for further growth. The firm’s culture values client service, collaboration, and pragmatism, which is demonstrated by great feedback from its clients and referrers. It was a pleasure to work with the LDC and Ross Trustees teams, and we’re excited to see how successful they can be in the future.”
The engagement was led by Armstrong's Head of Financial Services, Simon Hemsley. Prior to joining Armstrong, Simon was CFO at Integrafin, the market-leading investment platform which provided personal pension and SIPP schemes as part of its service offering to financial advisers and their clients.
