Built Environment: LDC’s new major investment in Stonbury

Armstrong is pleased to have provided strategic support to private equity investor LDC on its investment in Stonbury, the UK’s leading water and environmental sustainability specialist, alongside minority co-investor Federated Hermes.

Headquartered in Bedfordshire, Stonbury delivers innovative, low-carbon solutions to maintain, repair and refurbish critical assets, from drinking water provision to wastewater treatment. 

Since LDC’s original investment in December 2022, Stonbury has delivered strong growth, with revenue up by 74% to £78 million and headcount growing from 281 to 443 people across 10 locations. Read more about the original transaction and how Armstrong supported HERE.

The backing will enable continued investment in people and services to meet growing demand, driven by the ageing UK water infrastructure and increased regulatory focus on reducing leakage and pollution. It will also support a buy-and-build strategy aimed at further expanding the service offering.
