Sector Outlook: Technology – IT Services & Software
Whilst the overall UK tech sector continues to face elongated sales cycles and slower trading, there have been some quality companies bucking this trend.
Our IT services practice has been busy working on deals across the front end of digital transformation and customer experience. Deals include Palatine’s acquisition of Atombit, and the simultaneous acquisitions of J2 Reliance, Profusion and Dwise, as well as Bluprintx’s acquisition of Skie Consulting and a couple of Digital Experience Agencies (yet to be announced). Beyond that, we provided CDD on a Cybersecurity Consultancy with a 24/7 Managed SOC and on a leading ERP implementation partner.
For H2 and Q1 next year, we expect to see plenty more opportunities in the Cyber space (read our recent article here), and across a wide range of different software implementation partners (read our previous thought piece here).
On the software side, we have been working on deals across a wide range of industry verticals alongside our end sector teams. This includes Omni Partners’ acquisition of Sava Technology, an airline travel tech business, an insurtech platform, as well as some others that will be mentioned in our upcoming sector updates.
In the immediate future, we expect to see software deals in all sorts of niche subsectors including vehicle fleet management, employee equity share options, food data management, legal document management and e-learning. We recently published an article exploring software vendors targeting the public sector, for those interested in opportunities in this space.
